Diets these days are more about looking good than feeling good(can i get a witness?!!),we pick up health trends from celebrities instead of nutritionists/dieticians/doctors(forgetting those celebrities have access to the best of healthcare).
Anyway,back to juicing,why are we juicing and what are we juicing?…..(pause and really think; this is not a rhetorical question.)
I know of weightloss and detox programs involving strict juice diets from days to weeks, i must say a big congratulations to people who have been able to complete a detox/weightloss program involving strict juice diet (tried one myself sometime ago and ended up with ulcer,never going back there).
It remains medically unproven that juice of any kind can cleanse your body system( God already provided us with enough organs to handle that).Recent studies show that strict juice diets can expose our bodies to greater problems.
Weight lost by juice diet actually involves loss of water and muscle mass not fat; sometimes causing our bodies to revolt (add even more weight).
To cut the long story short ,fresh juices are healthy and should be a part of our daily meals, however,they only contain vitamins,anti oxidants e.t.c which make up just a fraction of what our bodies truly need.
Fruit juices can be high in sugar so you might want to try out vegetable juices too, in all consider your fruit choices carefully and drink responsibly.
