There are different types of dry fishes that come from the northern Nigeria and mangala fish is one of them. Most of these dry fishes are from Niger , Maiduguri and even Chad . Alot of them are caught in the wild, they are fresh water fishes so they are not farmed. Fresh water fishes when smoked are usually very tasty , you can snack on them or use them to cook various Nigerian delicacies.

A few of the dry fishes that come from northern Nigeria include

  • Asa fish (also know as smoked eja osan).
  • Efi fish ( also known as okodo fish)
