POST SALLAH RECIPE -SHREDDED BEEF SAUCE

While some are wandering what to do with the excess sallah meat; others just want to prepare something different and special for their loved ones.
Whatever category you belong, Chef Uba has got you covered. He sent me the most amazing shredded beef sauce recipe which am more than pleased to share with you.
The shredded beef sauce is originally a Chinese meal recreated by Chef Uba to suit the Nigerian taste buds.
Serves : 4
Ingredients
1kg lean beef
2 medium size green pepper
1 large fresh bell pepper(tatashe)
1 large onion bulb
2 slices of ginger
1 clove of garlic
1 table spoon of granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
Olive oil
Dark soy sauce
Sesame seed oil
1 tablespoon of red wine
2 cooking spoons of vegetable oil
Half teaspoon of chilli pepper
Corn starch
Method:
Shred the lean beef into 1 inch long strips (you can do this using a food processor/meat mincer/by hand)
Place beef in a round bottom bowl and prepare the marinade with the following
1 table spoon of corn starch
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon of sesame seed oil
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon wine
Allow to marinate for 20 minutes while covered in the fridge
Heat frying pan and add 2 cooking spoon of vegetable oil. Ensure the oil is hot; add the shredded beef and stir -fry briskly for about 45 seconds, till colour and texture of beef changes.
Remove beef from oil and set aside.
Clean and slice onions, red pepper and green pepper into 1 inch long strips.
Get a fresh pan or wok, pour in the olive oil and heat up. Add sliced onions,finely chopped garlic, finely grated ginger and stir briskly. Pour in beef, add salt, sugar ,peppers and stir. fry for about 2 minutes.
Reduce heat
In a bowl mix 1 teaspoon full of corn flour add 3/4 cup of water. Add this mix gently into the pan while stirring. Sprinkle some dark soy sauce, chilli powder,sesame seed oil and salt to taste.
Allow to simmer and thicken for about 2 minutes.
Voila!
Your freshly made shredded beef sauce is ready to serve. Serve hot with steamed or fried basmati rice (also available in store).
